Can I order literature by phone or fax and send payment later?
No. You can order by mail with a check or money order or by phone, fax, or online using MasterCard, Visa, or Discover. All orders must be prepaid.
Can my order be expedited?
Need it sooner? Call the World Service Office (WSO) to have your order expedited. The WSO will let you know the expedited shipping cost and will also add an additional $10 handling fee.
Does the WSO sell AA literature?
Yes. You can purchase the soft cover version of Alcoholics Anonymous (the Big Book) in English by phone or online using a credit card or by mailing a check to the World Service Office. See our Contact page for our phone number and mailing address.
How long will it take to receive my literature order?
Allow 10–14 business days for delivery in the United States, and three to four weeks for delivery outside the United States.
Is the OA bookstore the only place I can buy OA literature?
OA is the publisher and distributor of its literature through the OA bookstore. Any business or organization can, however, order OA literature for resale. For example Hazelden orders and sells some OA literature.
There are a few exceptions: OA e-books are available through Amazon (Kindle), Barnes and Noble (Nook), and Apple (Apple Books). In addition, OA uses Amazon’s print-on-demand service to offer two books as paperbacks exclusively through Amazon:
- The Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of Overeaters Anonymous, Second Edition, large print edition
- A New Beginning: Stories of Relapse from Recovery, paperback
With these books, OA enters into a royalty-share agreement with Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Apple. For each e-book or book sold, OA receives part of the purchase price. These sales contribute to OA being self-supporting.
To find the e-books and books sold by OA on these platforms, look for books where “Overeaters Anonymous” is listed as the author. If you click on the author link, you’ll go to a page with all of OA’s books for sale.

If Overeaters Anonymous is not listed as the author, the book is being sold by a reseller (used). OA does not receive any part of the purchase price from the sale of books by resellers.
What is the return policy?
Please make any returns of goods within 90 days of your original order date. Include a copy of the invoice. Items returned must be in saleable condition. A credit will be issued to your account which will be valid for one year.
